HANNA SISTERS TO RELEASE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED ALBUM |
| 24/02/2007 23:25:54 |
| The Hannasisters are set to launch their album "About Time" at Armaghs Market place theatre... |
on Wednesday28th February at the start of a nationwide Irish tour. Further dates are available from their website.
Jackie Hayden of Hot Press magazine had this to say about the album
The Hanna Sisters are from County Armagh and they regularly grace venues around northern Europe as well as here at home. They have a debut album called 'About Time' in production with Rod McVey, but from the tracks I've heard it'll make a crackling good pop-rock album with obvious trad nuances. 'In Time' sizzles over a solid beat, an infectious melody and some fine violin playing from Nuala Hanna. 'Hotline to your Soul' is more laid back with delicious harmonies and a gem of a chorus. 'Princes Port' ups the ante again and delivers a fine radio-friendly track. The Hanna Sisters offer us classy, intelligent pop songs, tastefully blended with their exhilarating Irish traditional musicianship, all topped off with their fine harmonies. Mainstream Irish radio needs records like this.

SO GOOD THE DANES |
| 05/02/2007 23:24:38 |
can't wait for them to arrive. The Hanna Sisters are to launch their new album "About Time" in Denmark on 17th Feb. |
The Band are currently enjoying extensive Danish Radio play of the single "Princes Port" which had its Danish release on the 15th January. The Hannasisters have lined up an extensive itinerary of live radio interviews and performances to coincide with their upcoming tour and ticket sales are reported to be brisk. More details of the tour can be found on the Dates section of this website
“I think we’re particularly looking forward to this tour as we’ve almost grown up musically with the people over there. They have a great appreciation of music and are already e-mailing their approval on the tasters we’ve left as downloads on the website.”

SECOND SINGLE RELEASE |
| 05/02/2007 23:04:15 |
- "Hotline to your soul". The Hanna Sisters have finally settled on a second single release from their critically acclaimed soon to be released new album "About Time". "Hotline to your soul" will be the A track with "Starin' at me" the B track. |
With a release date of 29th January and the single available exclusively from their own website www.thehannasisters.net the Armagh sisters are hopeful that the new single is as well received as their October release “Princes Port”.
The tracks continue the poppy theme prevalent throughout the album but the girls traditional roots are evident in the instrumentation and overall feel of the numbers. “Hotline to your soul” is (as the name suggests ) a more soulful and reflective number. “Starin’ at me” is a much more jaunty song and its not long before you’re drawn into the chorus.
For me the highlight as always with The Hanna Sisters is the simplicity and purity of the vocal harmonies, qualities no doubt honed over many years of playing and singing together. The quality of the production and backing musicianship is easily understood when you take the time to read the sleeve notes and see a who’s who of Irish musicians.

PRINCES PORT - Busy Promotion Schedule |
| 20/12/2006 23:05:39 |
| The Hanna Sisters have had a busy schedule throughout December promoting their new single Princes Port on TV, Radio and the printed media. |
Ivan Martin of U105, Marc Mallet of City Beat, Charlie Mc Gettigan of Shannonside Northern Sound, Radio Ulsters "Your Place and Mine"(Sat 23rd) are just some of those who have interviewed the Armagh singer/songwriters and had them in for live interviews and music. NVTV in Belfast carried a live interview with the Hannasisters and Sunday Life are running a profile on the sisters over the festive season. They've made it into the Hot Press annual and more interviews are scheduled over the next few weeks.
All in all Armaghs finest are delighted both with the interest shown and the reaction of all who have heard the single. 2007 promises to be an exciting year for the talented trio!! |
